The other two could be tolerable 75% off but if your time is short too, you'll already have enough to play in the 2 free campaigns and the 3 better DLC campaigns anyway.Click here to set your flair! Welcome to /r/TotalWar!Ī subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. Would definitely recommend the first three. The greek wars have lots of potential but were done badly enough in the DLC it's more enjoyable to fight random enemies as greeks in the main free campaign. It's total war, not total janitors building-maximum-amount-of-water-fountains.ĥ: wrath of sparta: very boring and simplified, seems like their first attempt at a dlc campaign, just throwing hoplites facefirst into other hoplites for boring times. The new mechanic is sanitation which I think sucks in all total war games and would consider a negative addition, not a positive worth paying money to get. Didn't really feel a third campaign on that same map changed much. Perfect for just doing the struggle between carthage and rome.Ĥ: Empire divided: seems to have basically identical map to base game + free augustus campaign. Latest DLC so I think it changes more campaign stuff like politics, haven't played recently.ģ: Carthage: custom map that's zoomed in on just north africa, spain and italy, so no spending time with brits or french gauls or german barbarians or tons of greek kingdoms or the middle east. Biggest game changer in rome2, no other campaigns mix things up more until later games (like Attila)Ģ: Rise of Republic: totally new campaign map focused on rome, much earlier time period. My ranking for Rome2 after considering there's a free Imperator Augustus campaign with some overlapsġ: Caesar in Gaul: totally new campaign map about France (gauls) and different gameplay where you're an expeditionary invading force with different gameplay from all the others.
